We've got some real talk for you. Unfortunately, our grand print plans had to take a rain check. The funds we needed didn't roll in, but that's not the end of our story. Behind the scenes, we've been hustling—curating stories and dreaming big about where this project can go.

Background Magazine is more than just a Kickstarter campaign. It's a vibe, a call to get outside, have a blast, and stand up for the places we love against climate change. It's a stage for talents like you, featuring the work of writers and photographers who make our community awesome.

Look, we'd love nothing more than to commission your work and print a glossy mag, but it's not the right time. Anyways, here's the scoop: Background is alive and kicking. There are heaps of incredible stories waiting to be told, and we want to be the ones shouting them from the rooftops.

For now, we're switching gears and going digital. It wasn't an easy call, but it will keep the dream alive. The print mag is still the endgame. Right now, we can't drop cash for your stories or pics, and if you need to take your talents elsewhere, we get it. Creative hustle pays the bills, and we respect that.

But, if you're still vibing with us, we want your story in Background Mag. We're starting with digital, testing the waters, and when things pop off, we'll be commissioning like crazy. We're all in to support your work, but we need your help to kick things into high gear.

In the next two weeks, we'll hit up everyone who pitched us. Your story is gold, and Background has serious potential to be the stage for your work among a community of adventure lovers we've been building.
