#20 Background's Sunday: Your Weekly Moment is Here!
New article at Background Mag!
Hey,
Today, we have a story that’s a great example of passion. It also reminds us that no matter what you're doing, when you fully go for it, you can be surprised along the way. The road is full of unexpected lessons, unique moments, and people waiting to cross your path—but you need to stay open to see them.
"Surf Africa’s Territory" is the name of the article we created together with Joaquín and Julian Azulay, two Argentinian brothers and surfers better known as Gauchos del Mar. They turned their 22-month surf journey through Africa into a film that goes beyond the waves. For nearly two years, they traveled the wild west coast of Africa in a beat-up 1985 military ambulance, making their way from Spain to South Africa in search of the unknown.
But it wasn’t just about the destination. The journey itself revealed treasures far greater than expected: a road filled with discovery, human connections, and landscapes that told their own stories. The waves were the excuse to explore this vast and unknown continent, but it was the journey that left deep marks on their hearts.
